Oftentimes love is so poorly packaged
that when we have sold everything to buy it
we cry in finding all our substance gone
and nothing in the tinsel and the ribbon.
Hate dresses well to please a buyer.
Calvin Miller ~ The Singer
~
Bitter tears fell
as she huddled
in the doorway
No one to reach out to
that cared
No one left to help
Desperate
Living in the shadows
of life
Her soul empty
as she bowed her head
defeated
The thought
to lay down and die
would bring the end
of the agony and torture
that never ends
Day after day
ripping her mind
to shreds
no rest
ever
She was lost
Love
had always alluded her
~
At her feet
a shadow stayed
until she looked up
And there
stood a man
a troubadour
with a different song
And He held out His hand
with help
to arise
and when she reached out
and took his hand
she knew Life
as he sang
Heaven’s song of love
And mended
her soul
her heart
her life
with the breath
of heaven
And she wept
with joy
as she who
deserved nothing
received everything
in a time of grace
Her spirit
found passage
among the stars
as she bent low
kissing his feet
with her tears
and her perfume
with adoration
~
Love
and utter devotion
The straining
of the heart
to embrace heaven
to let go
of everything
on this earth
to follow the One
that gave everything
for us
For a time that comes
around again
to catch as a whisper
that floats by
on angel wings
If we can only
stop and wait
long enough
to hear
the hushed silence
and be
overwhelmed
with the compassion
of God
~
Who today will hear
Who today will answer
Who will know
Him who speaks
to the heart
Who will understand
these end times
and hear
the urgent message
of heaven
that has been issued
to the four corners
of the earth
To be answered
by those who were
desperate
hopeless
lonely
forgotten
discouraged
brokenhearted
comfortless
Who will
reach
for His hand…
